September Newsletter

The 28th September was World Rabies Day. Sadly, millions of dogs are killed around the world in response to fear of rabies. But this does not resolve the problem. Mass vaccination is the only way to protect dogs and people from the threat of rabies. At all our vaccination days, a rabies injection is included in the package. Don’t forget to vaccinate your dog.

Pledging for Santa Paws started on the 20th of September, and we have been nominated as a beneficiary of their Christmas Drive.  It’s so simply. Go to and select your area. You then need to register and finally select your box. It could be a dog, puppy, cat and/or kitten box.  Once you’ve filled your box with the necessary items, (and don’t forget the Staff item) you must drop it off at one of the many drop off sites on the website. Drop offs begin on the 15th October, and end on the 19th November.  Items must be appropriate for the specific animal. Couldn’t be bothered??? Don’t worry there’s another option. You can simply make a donation. They’ve set the amount of R120 000-00 as their target and are sitting on R11 006-00. Come on everybody dig deep.

Momentum 94.7

We cannot over emphasize the importance of sterilizing your animals. On Monday we ran an on- site sterilization day. Most of the animals were not in very good shape. But what really upset us was an older tom, who had spent most of his life fighting, presumably for the next queen.  He was covered with sores on his head and neck. Had he been neutered this would not have happened. Sterilizing stops the over-population of unwanted animals, improves the animals lives tremendously and lessens the risk of cancer and other diseases. We need your help and support to promote and reinforce the importance of spaying and neutering of cats and dogs.

Your donation will help protect these animals by ensuring they receive the care they need. Please help us continue to share this important message.

Please help us to help those who cannot speak for themselves by making a kind donation and or sending this to all your friends and family.  Wish list:

-Dog and cat food

-Carpets to cut up for bedding or blankets

-Food bowls

-Collars and leashes

-Spot-ons, de-worming, vaccines

-Sponsors for kennels

-Books, jumble or any items

Thank you for your generosity and continuous support, you are the reason we can continue doing what we do.
