On the 16th of October we celebrated International Feral Cat Day. Often referred to as community cats, ferals live in colonies or on their own in residential and business areas or other public places anywhere where there is a possibility of getting a free meal. They come from different backgrounds. Some are born in the wild while others had a home before being abandoned by their heartless owners. Ferals don’t have an easy life. Their average life span is only 3 years. Despite this it is possible to maintain a stable colony of untamed or wild cats. The Trap-Neuter-Return method helps cats and the community. It is a program whereby cats are trapped, sterilized, vaccinated and returned to their location. This controls the feral cat population, fighting stops and they live longer healthier lives. Thank you Chris for all your hard work with the feral cats. With your help we can make a huge difference to the lives of community cats everywhere.
