Dear Animal Ally,

It’s “PLEASE” and “THANK YOU” time at Animal Allies.

THANK YOU to Shaun Richards who organised a show at Amuse in Linden. An amazing R1300-00 was raised for feral cats.

THANK YOU also to Beverley and Colleen, who donated two hampers and organised a raffle. Another amazing R1310-00 was raised, which will also be used to sterilise ferals.

These incomes allow us to focus our attention more on the animals and less on raising funds.

Winter is fast approaching and we are in the process of having kennels made for the dogs (and cats) in the townships and squatter camps. As you are aware these animals have little or no shelter and are exposed to all the elements. We also need dog blankets. PLEASE contact us should you wish to contribute to these causes.

We were recently registered as a beneficiary of the My School program. If you do not have a My School card, PLEASE apply by going to www.myschool.co.za  If you already have a card, PLEASE add Animal Allies to your beneficiaries. As you know you can have up to three beneficiaries per card.

You can make a difference without costing yourself money. Just keep swiping that card.

THANK YOU to all who donated their jumble and unwanted items to Animal Allies. Viv, at SAINTS, does a wonderful job of converting it to cash. So PLEASE continue donating by either taking it to SAINTS, which is situated at the North Riding Square Shopping Centre, corner Bellairs Drive and Blanford Road, North Riding; or you can contact us to collect.

Good News! Our feral cat sterilisation projects are running well. We have a Trap-Neuter-Return program which includes educating employers and employees on the control and management of feral colonies. We continue to oversee these colonies on a regular basis. Below is a beautiful sight of some of our ferals.

And talking about ferals, we recently trapped a mommy and four kittens. They are doing great. Mommy will be sterilized and returned and the kittens will be looking for forever homes in the not too distant future. If you can help home a kitten, PLEASE contact us.

Finally, to all those who have helped Animal Allies THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. It was Edmund Burke who said “Nobody made a great mistake than he who did nothing because he could only do a little.”
